Deputy First Minister Kate Forbes visited Peterhead on Monday 26th August to meet with representatives of the Scottish Fishing industry in a bid to reaffirm the Scottish Government’s commitment to the seafood processing sector.
During the visit, coordinated by the SSA, the Deputy First Minister toured Peterhead Fish Market with SSA Chair Andrew Brown and SSA Executive Assistant Linda Hope. The DFM followed up the visit to the market with a tour of Peterhead-based seafood producer Seafood Ecosse, meeting with MD David Leiper.
The DFM’s visit was shared on Scottish Government’s own ‘X’ account stating: “The sector plays an important economic role providing fair work for communities and helps sustain Scotland’s world class seafood economy”.
