Our Buyer will work along with Landings Manager to source product and arrange transportation of goods to the factory for processing to meet business sales requirements.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
These will include, but not limited to:
- To source product to fulfil orders and business volumes of raw material by contacting boats, fishing offices, traders and other markets for appropriate sizes and quality of product required.
- To be present upon arrival of boats landing their catch at various harbours to ensure a smooth process.
- Ensure product has been quality checked at the time of landing.
- Ensure transport has been arranged for landed product for processing at the factory whilst ensuring food hygiene and food transport regulations are met.
Do you have the have the following Skills, Knowledge and competence?
- Knowledge of Fishing and/or shellfish industry.
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as in a small team.
- An organised approach and self-motivation.
- Good communication and interaction skills.
- Able to work flexible and unsocial hours.
- Driver’s licence.
- Basic Computer skills.
