The Scottish Seafood Association recently took part in an industry roundtable with First Minister John Swinney and Karen Adam MSP, kindly hosted by SSA member Associated Seafoods Ltd in Buckie, following the First Minister’s tour of the processor’s facilities, latest investments and products.

This was a valuable opportunity for SSA members and industry leaders to present and discuss some of the most pressing challenges facing Scotland’s seafood processing sector from labour shortages to rising energy costs.

Constructive engagement at this level is vital. By working together with The Scottish Government, we can strengthen our seafood processing sector, protect jobs and ensure a sustainable future for Scotland’s world-class seafood industry.
A big thank you to Associated Seafoods for hosting and to all who contributed to this important discussion.
