SSA Hosts UK Government at ONE SeedPod to Advance UK–India Trade Opportunities
On 11th February 2026, the Scottish Seafood Association (SSA) hosted representatives from the UK Department for Business and Trade (DBT) and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) at ONE SeedPod in Aberdeen to discuss the newly agreed UK–India trade deal and its implications for Scotland’s seafood sector.
SSA hosts visit by MP to Peterhead Fishmarket
The Scottish Seafood Association (SSA) hosted a visit by Harriet Cross MP to Peterhead fish auction on Friday 18th Oct.
Harriet Cross is the new MP for Gordon and Buchan, the neighbouring constituency to Aberdeenshire North and Moray East. She was keen to meet with the SSA and to learn and understand the challenges the industry faces.
Scottish Government Listening at Showcasing Scotland
SSA CEO Jimmy Buchan attended Showcasing Scotland last month and was quick to approach Scottish First Minister Humza Yousaf, when the opportunity arose to inform him of the current challenges within the Scottish Seafood industry.
SSA Invited to Downing Street
The Scottish Seafood Association CEO, Jimmy Buchan was invited to attend a special reception at 10 Downing Street on Tuesday, February 27th, 2024.
