The Scottish Seafood Association is proud to congratulate members participating in the MSC Group Scheme following another successful annual audit outcome, demonstrating the continued commitment of Scotland’s seafood processing sector to maintaining the highest standards of traceability, certification and responsible sourcing.
The latest audit cycle once again highlighted the strength of collaboration across the Group Scheme, with participating businesses demonstrating strong knowledge, excellent preparation and a clear commitment to maintaining certification standards.
The MSC Group Scheme remains an important benefit for SSA members, enabling businesses to share costs, streamline processes and work collectively to maintain certification requirements while strengthening Scotland’s position within international seafood markets.
SSA Chief Executive Jimmy Buchan thanked participating members for their continued commitment:
“The strength of this scheme comes from the commitment shown by our members. Maintaining these standards requires effort from businesses across the supply chain and this result demonstrates exactly what can be achieved when industry works together.”
SSA’s in-house Technical Training Manager, Lynne Stephen, continues to play a vital role supporting members throughout the audit process, providing technical guidance, training support and practical assistance to ensure businesses remain prepared and compliant.
Maintaining strong certification standards is increasingly important as customers, retailers and export markets continue to demand high levels of assurance, traceability and responsible sourcing.
This successful outcome reflects not only the quality systems in place across participating businesses but also the positive culture, teamwork and professionalism demonstrated throughout the audit process.
The Scottish Seafood Association would like to thank all participating members and their teams for their hard work and continued commitment to making the Group Scheme a success.
